Company history:
We were founded in 1981.
We were set in 1981.
We were established in 1981.
Five years later,we set up a subsidiary.
We then merged with another company.
In the beginning of the 90s,we decided to sell off the subsidiary.
The remaining company was split into five different divisions.
Company products:
We produce sportswear.
We manufacture car engines.
We supply computer chips.
We launched a new washing powder last month.
It has revolutionised the washing process.
We have pioneered new ways of getting your cloth cleaner.
Company performance:
We are the market leaders in three countries.
We have expanded our operations.
We make annual profits of $1 million.
Our turnover is in excess of $2 million.
Company structure:
At the head is the President,or CEO.
Below the President is the managing director,who has overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the company.
The company is divided up into different departments.
The marketing and Sales department consists of the sales team,all customer services.
The Administration department also includes Personnel.

At a more Informal party.

When you introduce two of your friends to each other,you can simplify say,
"John, this is Sarah".
Cultural considerations:
In a work situation, there's often one person who has lighter status -your boss,or a client,for example,In these contexts,it's polite to address them as "Mr..."until the situation becomes more informal.
                                   However,some people will say to you,"Please call me(Henry)",and you know that you can use first names.If someones call you by your first name as soon as they meet  you,then you can use their first name too..
                                                What do you call women?Someone prefer not to call women by their names at all,until the situation is more informal.Of course friends,colleagues and family will always use first names....
                                          Men and women in European and English-speaking cultures often shake hands,when they meet someone for the first time.........

Introduction

Concepts and communicative functions:
all language are based principally upon two basic human needs:
1)to identify everything that is part of our existence..
               -concrete things (e.g an object,an animal)
               -abstract ideas(e.g love,intelligence)
               -general concepts(e.g space,time,quantity)
               -concepts involving logical relationships (e.g cause,effect)


2)to communicate with other people in order to achieve a particular result.For example:
a)A person who does not have certain information can ask another person who will then give a reply
b)if someone needs to use something which belongs to another person he/she can ask for permission to use it.The other person will then give the permission or refuse it.
c)if someone makes a suggestion to another person,the second person may accept or reject it or,perhaps,thank the first person........


                                                 Language is therefore used to carry out a variety of communicative functions.It can express our intellectual,moral and emotional attitudes;it can influence the behaviour of other people (bu requesting or ordering them to do something);it can establish and maintain,social contact.............


                                       The language of word is not only the means of satisfying these two fundamental human needs of identifying and communicating.There are other forms of language and they are becoming increasingly important (e.graphical,mathematical.musical). However there is no doubt that the language of words is still the most important for human communication................
